TLC Promise Me – For the Children of Rumah Aman

In the midst of our busy schedule, it is always important to slow down, take a breather, look around us and help those who are less unfortunate than ourself. Giving back to the public is not only good for the community but it is also good for the soul. You know that warm fuzzy feeling when somebody give you a hug after a long, hard day at work?

Why not give that exact comfort to the kids residing at Rumah Aman, Shah Alam through a donation?

This donation drive for Rumah Aman is operated by Truly Loving Company (TLC) under their Promise Me Season 2 campaign. Before we proceed, perhaps a short introduction about TLC is due? The Truly Loving Company produces personal and household products including bath & body products, kitchen cleaners, floor cleaners, and bathroom cleaners, which you can find in most major supermarkets and grocery stores. When you buy TLC products, you’re actually contributing to charity because 100% of the company’s dividends are split between 5 charity partners they are affiliated with.

The aim for this campaign is to raise funds and help Rumah Aman replace their 15 year-old electricity wiring and lightning breaker system. The old wiring system means that the home is quite vulnerable to power outages during storms. Help them by donating RM20 (fixed). The neat thing about Rumah Aman is that they operate solely on donations made by the public. With those money, they successfully pulled off an impressive job of providing a comfortable shelter to these kids. Whatever that the house are running low on, they would put it on a noticeboard and scrupulous public would provide it for them.

Look at young Amri (in the picture above, the one on the left). He has a learning disability but he looks happy with his other young friends at Rumah Aman. His ambition is to be a soccer player in our National team one day. With your help, that won't be impossible at all!

The upgrade from the current 2 phase electrical wiring system to a 3 phase one will cost an estimated RM 20,000. Other than Rumah Aman, there are 11 other wishes that needs to be granted. The wishes that are included within the Promise Me Season 2 campaign can be viewed in the campaign website linked below.
